I design APIs, data models, and services that stay fast and predictable under real traffic — with Python as my main tool of choice.

About me

I'm Himanshu Sinngh, a backend developer from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. I grew up in a household that valued discipline and steady effort — my father, Mr. Sanjay Singh, taught me early on that good work is built one careful step at a time, and that habit shows up in how I write software today.

My core language is Python, and most of my day-to-day work sits behind the scenes: designing database schemas, building REST APIs, wiring up authentication, and making sure a service still behaves correctly when three things fail at once. I care less about flashy interfaces and more about systems that are easy to reason about, easy to test, and boring in the best possible way.

Outside of client work, I spend time reading about distributed systems, contributing small fixes to open-source tooling, and slowly expanding a personal lab of side projects — a few of which are further down this page.

  1. Backend Developer

    Nimbus Cloud Systems

    Aug 2025 — Present

Own the payments and notifications services for a B2B SaaS platform. Rebuilt a legacy billing endpoint in Flask, cutting P95 latency by 40% and reducing failed webhook retries.

  2. Backend Developer Intern

    Quanta Analytics

    July 2025 — Aug 2025

Built internal reporting APIs on Django and PostgreSQL, and set up scheduled ETL jobs that cut manual report preparation time from a day to under an hour.

  3. Software Engineering Trainee

    CodeForge Labs

    Jun 2026 — Dec 2026

Worked on a small team shipping a task-tracking tool; focused on SQL query optimization and writing the service's first test suite.

Frequently asked questions

I'm from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, and studied Computer Science at Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology. I've spent the last few years focused almost entirely on backend systems — APIs, databases, and the infrastructure that keeps them running.

Boring is a feature. I'd rather ship a service that's predictable and easy to debug at 2 a.m. than one that's clever but fragile. I write tests for the paths that would hurt the most if they broke, and I document decisions so the next person — often future me — doesn't have to guess why something was built a certain way.

Python is my default — usually Flask for smaller services and Django when a project needs more structure out of the box. PostgreSQL is my go-to database, with Redis for caching and Celery for background jobs. On the front end I'm comfortable enough with HTML, CSS and JavaScript to build and wire up the interfaces my APIs power.

Yes — I'm open to full-time backend roles as well as focused contract work on APIs, data modeling, or performance issues. The contact form below reaches me directly.
